Officer of the Year 2021

Captain Justin Davis

Asst. Chief Hawthorne won the 2020 Officer of the Year award for his outstanding leadership and guidance through the Covid-19 pandemic. Hawthorne wrote and re-wrote safety and response protocols continuously to stay update to date with the latest CDC information and changing environmental factors. These efforts allowed NFD to operate safely during the pandemic, while experiencing no loss of coverage to the NFD fire district due to a Covid-19 outbreak among its firefighters due to on the job exposure. 

Firefighter of the Year 2021

FF/EMT-B Winston Saldivar

Fire Fighter Rusty Peace joined NFD in 2019 and made an immediate positive impact on NFD.  His contributions to the medical response capabilities of the department and firefighters allowed for improvements in medical equipment standardization, medical report logging, EMS training, and procurement of hard to find medical supplies during the pandemic. Peace also help to insure NFD medical training and records were within all compliance requirements outlined by our service agreements and regulatory authorities.
